Katie Scherr

Katie joined Child Advocates-Denver CASA in January 2023 as an Advocate Supervisor. Katie is passionate about supporting children and families, and first found her call to child welfare while volunteering as a CASA from 2017-2019. Prior to joining the Denver CASA team, Katie served as a caseworker with Jefferson County Human Services, as a foster family case manager and adoption coordinator with Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, and as a student support services coordinator at New Legacy Charter School. Katie graduated from Luther College with a BA in Music Education in 2014, and later earned her Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2022.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, cooking, exploring the outdoors through hiking and snowshoeing, and spending time with her husband and their enormous cat.
