Jennifer Barker joined the Child Advocates – Denver CASA Board in 2012, and acted as Secretary for a year before becoming President of the Board in 2017. Jennifer is dedicated to Child Advocates because she believes in giving a voice to the abused and neglected children in our community. We give them the gift of hope, empowering them to see that their circumstances do not need to define them.
Jennifer has always been committed to giving back to her community and has worked with the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative, on Chris Romer’s 2011 Denver Mayoral Campaign, Junior Achievement and most recently in her current position with the American Heart Association.
Following her passion for non-profits, Jennifer founded Connect the Dots, a philanthropic strategy firm that connects companies to non-profits through beneficial long-run partnerships. A non-profit match maker, Jennifer works with clients of all sizes from small local salons to larger energy companies to audit their current giving strategies and provide them with a plan that will take their impact to the next level.
Jennifer graduated from Kent Denver High School and attended Emory University where she received a BA in Economics with a Business Policy Emphasis along with an Art History Minor. In addition, Jennifer received her MBA through the 11-month MBA program at University of Colorado Denver. In her spare time, Jennifer, who is affectionately known to her friends and family as JJ, enjoys running, swimming, lifting weights, travelling and spending time with her family.
